Data science is the core business; connecting large amounts of data from different sources and translate these to usable information for the end-user. I contribute to the team with acquisition, collaborations with relevant partners, scientific quality of the research projects and supervision of master- and PhD students during their research projects.
I am fascinated by…
Tom Dumoulin, a Dutch pro cyclist, who won the Giro d’italia 2017, was world champion time trial in 2017, and was runner up in the giro d’italia 2018 as well as in the Tour de France 2018. His approach of incorporating science into cycling, mental toughness, ‘Dutch sobriety’ and his guts to make choices on the highest level makes him one of the best athletes in the world!
Besides PEARL…
I am Associate Professor Performing Arts Medicine at Codarts. In addition, I run the ‘home company’ and try to impose the vison of PEARL to my dancing daughter and soccer playing sons 😉 In my scarce free hours I love to ride my MTB, preferably with friends, some steep hills and a nice beer afterwards!
